Christmas Eggnog

Christmas Eggnog


The old fashioned Cabaniss recipe for Christmas eggnog was used by S.D. Cabaniss to celebrate each year. It was served not only to the family, but to all the servants as well, and thus caused a delay in the serving of Christmas dinner.



Ingredients:

12 eggs, separated 1 ½ quarts whipping cream
12 tablespoon whiskey 1 tablespoon vanilla
12 tablespoon sugar


Procedure:

Beat egg yellows, add sugar and liquor gradually. Chill. Whip cream and add flavoring. Add to egg mixture gradually. If mixture is too thick, add milk or half-and-half.

Suggestion: For serving over prolonged period,. Float a half gallon of vanilla ice cream punch bowl.
